A HOMERUN DAY!

Friday May 14, 2010 was a home run day for “The Bus Moves Us” eco-action art project . My letter to the editor was printed in the Independent and the Coastline calling on Lagunans to answer a new environmental call to turn Laguna green one bus rider at a time. Responses were informative and encouraging.

Friday May 14 p.m. The Bus Moves Us, eco-action art project was exhibited at the Transition Laguna Event at the Sawdust Festival art grounds, a most suitable venue for the unveiling of a proposed VIRTUAL public green monument to honor the environment. The idea that each rider becomes a performance artist and turns Laguna green by the act of taking a bus and emailing or blogging captured the imagination of many. We are going to keep a citywide tally for our green riders to track. Several local organizations are interested in collaborating on the project. Imagine, artist Cristo’s saffron banners lining the pathways of Central Park on a bleak winter day. Now, flash Laguna green in your mind’s eye. The kids got it immediately and loved our green bus logo. That’s always a good sign.

Wednesday May 19. “Secrets Revealed”—by bus . Twenty Intrepid Travelers will day trip. A waiting list for this trip is good news-more green rider enthusiasm. Look for the answers to these secrets on Thursday.
